Dr. C S Venkata Ratnam one of the distinguished panel speaker for HR Compass: The Evolving HR Competencies during the session said that it is the time and need to develop HR professionals against the standard created by HR Competency model. He shared that the current HR Curriculum is not based on any systematic assessment of HR competencies and said that if the curriculum is aligned with the HR Compass than competency gaps can be possibly bridged. He talked about the four levels of HR Compass (Basic, Competent, Advance and Expert) as it an ongoing process. He stressed that the HR programs should focus on the first two levels initially and then consecutively to the next levels. He also talked about the employee relations competencies and elaborated the basic level of HR Competency. He asked the academicians to look into the HR curriculum and see whether they are covering all the competencies listed.
