Annual General Body Meeting and April Special Event
NHRDN Delhi Chapter’s third Special Event of the year 2008 and the annual general body meeting was held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, New Delhi. Started with high tea and networking, the session was well attended by over 200 participants with a good blend of members of academia, from young professionals to many eminent Chief of HR. Delhi Chapter, known for its enthusiasm and high sprit with its activities and participation keeps proving the fact each time, all over again.
N.S.Rajan, President, Delhi Chapter and Human partner, E&Y commenced the event with the welcome note and recitation out the code of conduct, followed by the proceedings of the AGM. “This is very special event for the Executive team @ Delhi chapter as this is their last session in this capacity” Rajan stated.
“Delhi chapter has always ensured to cater to its members with international quality programs which are just envious and commendable” said Mr. G.P. Rao, Regional President – North and Head HR & IR, Polyester Sector, Reliance Industries Ltd “I congratulate Rajan, Pankaj, Prashant and the team for their admirable two years work” Rao added.

More than the excellent revenue generation, the quality of work done by Delhi Chapter for instance the success of Web 2.0 launch is simply commendable” commented Aquil Busrai, Executive Director – HR, IBM India. Aquil then announced MR. S.Y.Siddiqui, Executive Director – HR, Maruti as the new president for Delhi chapter.

Delhi chapter was privileged to witness the unique perspectives shared by Inder Walia, Group Director HR, Bharati Group and Ciaron Murphy, Head HR, Global Services, Nokia Siemens Networks. Rajan facilitated the dialogue with some interesting question.
“The differentiator for being a successful HR professional is flexibility” Said Walia. “CEO’s today look for an objective quality and not a yes man” said Murphy. ”Europe is about preserving what they have whereas India is about creating something special from what they have. This is something that really motivates me” Murphy added.
The talk with the thought leaders was followed by an interactive questions and answers session that brought out interesting thoughts on Change management and leadership retention in an M&A situation. Pankaj Bansal, VP, Delhi Chapter and CEO, PeopleStrong thanked the speakers for sharing their time and perspective with the chapter. “I’d like to thank you all and would like to promise Mr. Siddiqui for our ongoing support towards Delhi chapter for future also”.
Mr. Siddiqui on becoming the Delhi chapter’s new president said “I’d like to thank the search team and National president for this opportunity and take this as a challenge to win the best chapter award for the 5th consecutive year”
This event proved to be an immense knowledge sharing and enhancing opportunity. The program was well received by the participants and they congratulated Delhi chapter for its constant innovation and creating a difference.
